At the end of the 1950s, Prince Rainier III, a car enthusiast, began his collection of classic cars. As the years went by and acquisitions were made, the collection grew, and very soon the garage at the Palace of Monaco proved too cramped to hold a hundred superb automobiles with monumental or sporty silhouettes, majestic bodies, gleaming hoods and royal grilles!
It was then, in 1993, that Prince Rainier III decided to unveil his treasures to the public.
This 3500m2 exhibition, the only one of its kind in the world, features almost a hundred automobiles, from the 1903 DE DION BOUTON to the 2013 LOTUS F1, including HISPANO SUIZA, ROLLS ROYCE, LINCOLN, FACEL VEGA, DELAGE, DELAHAYE, PACKARD, HUMBER, NAPIER, FERRARI, MASERATI, LAMBORGHINI, ALFA ROMEO, LEXUS from the 2011 Prince's wedding, etc... As well as the racing cars that made their mark on the Monte Carlo Rally and the F1 cars of the Monaco Grand Prix.
